Local Event Communications Consent

1. Draft status and separate purpose

This is an operational draft and is not yet effective. Local event discovery is an optional marketing purpose separate from general THS marketing and from transactional updates for an event the household already requested.

The legal sender, mailing address, preference channel, initial region list, and Chapter approval process must be confirmed before activation.

2. What a yes covers

THS may email the guardian about approved events and event-interest opportunities selected for the guardian's broad region and stated family age or grade bands. An email may include eligibility, broad area, date, cost, membership relationship, faith posture, and a link to the full event dossier.

A regional preference is an audience filter, not permission to reveal the household's exact location to other families, an organizer, a sponsor, or a Chapter operator.

3. Data used for selection

THS should use the minimum data needed for an approved segment. Exact birth dates, private addresses, student posts, verification evidence, medical data, safety reports, and inferred sensitive traits are not approved local-marketing inputs.

• Guardian email and current consent or suppression state.
• Selected broad region, such as a metro area, and optionally a coarse postal prefix when approved.
• Number of students and broad age or grade bands represented by the household.
• Chosen event types or interests and current intent, such as discover, attend, host, partner, sponsor, or explore a Chapter.
• Campaign source and prior event-interest actions needed to avoid irrelevant or duplicate messages.

4. Chapter and organizer boundaries

A Chapter operator may request an approved campaign to an authorized segment but does not receive ownership of the audience, a raw export, guardian contact details, or cross-region access merely because the campaign is local.

THS must recheck the operator's current role, region, campaign approval, message content, audience purpose, consent, suppression, and safety state immediately before delivery. Sponsors and outside organizers do not receive the list through this consent.

5. Discovery is not registration

An event-discovery message is not a reservation, ticket, acceptance, waiver, eligibility decision, or guarantee that space remains. The linked dossier and checkout must provide the current details and event-specific terms.

After a household applies for or registers for an event, necessary application, ticket, schedule, location, safety, cancellation, refund, accessibility, and pickup messages are transactional and are governed by the Transactional Communications Notice.

6. Unsubscribe and preference changes

Every local event marketing email must provide a clear way to stop local event discovery. The guardian should be able to change regions or event interests without being forced to accept general marketing.

THS must apply withdrawal promptly and within the period required by applicable law. A withdrawal must cancel queued local promotional work before delivery, while preserving any necessary registered-event communication.

7. Records and expansion

THS records the guardian, selected purpose and region, policy key, version, content hash, decision, time, source, and suppression state needed to honor and prove the choice.

A new country, materially broader geography, SMS or phone channel, organizer sharing model, or materially different use requires a new disclosure, a new policy version, and any fresh consent required by law.
